The Mission Hills Neighborhood Council was created to bring the community together and work with the City to address community concerns.
In 2019 we held elections and swore in new board members. We are proud of our work participating in the Spring Clean on Devonshire along the spreading grounds in April and supporting planting efforts there in October and November.
We support community events and programs creating an opportunity for neighbors to meet each other and enjoy all that Mission Hills has to offer:
- Movie nights in the park
- National Night Out
- July 4th BBQ
- Valley Disaster Preparedness Fair
- San Jose Street Elementary School Robotics Program
Land Use is always a hot topic in shaping the type of community we want to live in. We held several meetings on the Bermuda Apartments Project so stakeholders could hear presentations and ask questions. Hearing the community’s concern, we took a position against that project and provided information on how everyone could further advocate their position with the city at additional hearings.
Outreach is critical in helping you know how you can get involved and make a difference. We installed beautiful banners on Sepulveda, provide community news on our website and reach stakeholders directly by email newsletter.
In 2020 we need your help! Our focus is to continue to make Mission Hills a better place to live, work, play and learn. Board Members work together on projects to achieve that goal. What’s the one thing you would like to improve in Mission Hills? Come to our next meeting and tell us!
We are actively recruiting Board Members passionate about making a difference in Mission Hills. We are in particular need of someone with financial or accounting experience. We would also appreciate someone with office management or secretarial skills to help serve the needs of our Mission Hills Community.
We invite you to share your interest in joining the Board by sending and email to Board@MHNConline.org as soon as possible. We would like to meet you at our January 6, 2020 meeting and install new members so that we can move forward making Mission Hills a place we all enjoy living.
