An extraordinary initiative aimed at providing 100GB per year of free internet service for the next five years for up to 18,000 students in Los Angeles who are struggling to stay connected online to classes and essential support services.
A presentation was made to the LAUSD School Board on Reopening. Families responded that 35% wanted students to attend school on campus full time. 37% requested a blended approach, whereas 28% wanted to remain online. However, only 44% of staff were willing to return to campus.
LAUSD is surveying parents to find out what their preferences are regarding reopening schools in the fall: remote learning, on campus full time, hybrid and the details surrounding all that.
