MHNC at Brand Park Reopening

Mission Hills Neighborhood Council was on hand Saturday, December 2, 2023 for the Grand Re-Opening of Brand Park including the new playground, revitalized baseball fields and new outdoor fitness equipment.

MHNC Board Member Rojelio Perez with the guidance and support of Monica Rodriguez’ office, Rojelio was able to file the request with the city and parks and recreation for a playground for Brand Park.  He’s a great example of a constituent taking initiative of a concern and working together with our local officials.

He shares, “It is my great pleasure to speak of the newly transformed Mission Hills Brand Park, now featuring a new playground and fitness center at its heart. As a proud father and resident, witnessing my children explore the new playground and embrace the reconditioned baseball fields filled me with immense joy. In conversations with fellow residents, the shared sentiment emerged – the addition of a community playground is more than a point of pride; it’s a source of genuine happiness for our community. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this project alongside my Mission Hills Neighborhood Council members and with the invaluable help of Monica Rodriguez and touched by the unwavering support from our community that brought this vision to life.”
